Pantone 1797 Aerosol Spray Paint is a custom-mixed colour from our Pantone C Paint chart, available as 1K (ready to use), 2K (integrated hardener for higher chemical and abrasion resistance) and 2K Air-Dry (non-isocyanate hardener). Finishes: Matt 0%, Satin 30%, Semi 60%, Full Gloss 90%. 2K aerosols are supplied as Acrylic Enamel only.

Clean/degrease thoroughly, then key the surface (typical P400–P600 for plastics/metals). Use substrate-appropriate primers: plastic adhesion for plastics/uPVC; etch/anti-corrosive for bare metals; sealers/primers for wood; dedicated systems for glass/fibreglass. Correct priming improves adhesion and durability.

Application parameters (distance, passes, overlap, flash-off)

Spray at ~15–25 cm with steady speed and angle. Apply light, even passes with ~50% overlap. Flash-off: 1K ~5–10 minutes, 2K ~10–15 minutes depending on conditions. Use adjustable fan width to suit the area and limit overspray.

Recoat window and curing schedule (1K vs 2K)

1K: recoat after about 10–15 minutes; typical handling cure around 30 minutes. 2K: recoat after about 20–30 minutes; touch-dry roughly 40 minutes; full cure around 24–48 hours. Ambient conditions will affect all timings.

Coverage and target film build

Guide coverage is around 2 m² per coat from a 400 ml aerosol on a smooth, primed substrate. Plan for 2–4 light coats. Target around 20–40 µm total dry film thickness; a light aerosol pass can deposit roughly 10–15 µm depending on technique and conditions.

System compatibility (primers, clears, overcoating)

Use compatible primers and clears from the same system where possible. Avoid mixing dissimilar chemistries without testing. Respect recoat windows to protect intercoat adhesion and gloss. Always validate with a small test area.

Environmental conditions and safety
