Trade Application Notes

AFNOR A412 - VERT BLEU FONCE Aerosol Spray Paint is part of the Afnor Aerosol Spray Paint Colour Chart. Each order is batch mixed using Lechler binders and colourants, so repeat orders match across aerosols and tins for return visits and snagging.

  • Formats: 400 ml aerosols in 1K (ready to use) or 2K (with integrated hardener), 1 litre tins, plus touch-up pots and pens.
  • Finishes: Matt 0%, Satin 30%, Semi gloss 60%, Full gloss 90% to suit client specification and maintenance regime.
  • Surface prep: Degrease, abrade to a uniform key, remove dust and salts. Use the correct primer for the substrate and environment.
  • Masking and protection: Mask adjacent glazing, brick, signage and ground. Use sheeting and drop cloths to control fall-out around public areas.
  • Application control: Vari-nozzle cap allows wide or narrow fan patterns. HVLP-style atomisation helps with edge control and reduced overspray.
  • Overspray management: Plan wind direction, set screens where required and keep a safe perimeter. Night or early morning shifts help on busy sites.
  • Weather window: Apply on clean, dry substrates. Avoid rain risk and condensation. Follow temperature and humidity limits in the product data sheet.
  • Recoat and cure: Observe flash-off and recoat guidance from the TDS. Allow full cure before aggressive cleaning or handling.
  • 2K handling: Mix accurately, respect pot life and dispose of waste responsibly. Use suitable PPE and ventilation.
  • Equipment: For aerosols, keep the can warm, shake thoroughly and maintain a wet edge. For tins, use compliant spray gear or mini-roller and fine foam for edges.
  • Coverage and finish: Apply light, even passes. Build film gradually for uniform sheen and durability.
  • Aftercare: Protect fresh coatings from tape pull, impact and wash-down until cured. Provide the client with basic cleaning guidance.
  • Repeatability: Batch codes are recorded so future top-ups can be mixed to the same colour and sheen for consistent touch-ins.

Suitable for a wide range of substrates when paired with the correct primer. Delivers smooth flow, reliable adhesion and long-term colour stability under normal service conditions.

Frequently Asked Questions

1K Aerosol paint takes around 30 minutes to cure completely.

The time it takes for a 2K aerosol to touch dry in 40 minutes. To dry out thoroughly is 24-48 hours depending on the conditions the paint is used in, for example, it will take longer to fully cure if applied outside in colder or damper conditions as opposed to a hot summer's day.

You can expect to be able to coat roughly 2 square meters in a single coat using a 400ml aerosol.

For best results, we recommend 2-4 coats depending on the colour chosen, existing colour to be re top coated and surface material to be sprayed.

We highly recommend the use of a primer for almost all your painting plans, we stock and supply the correct primers necessary for the surface material, example glass primers, fibreglass primers and plastic primers. When choosing a primer, it is essential to select the proper primer for the surface material you plan to apply the topcoat.

Please note – Our aerosol cans, litre tins and touch up and repair pots/pens are custom mixed and should be tested before application. We do not take responsibility for any colour difference once you have applied the paint to your surfaces. If the colour is not accurate, please contact us to arrange a return.
