British Standard 4800 - 20 C 37 is part of our British Standard 4800 Paint Colour Chart. Each order is mixed fresh using Lechler binders and colourants, so follow on orders are designed to sit neatly alongside earlier work for touch ins, snagging and small repairs.
When paired with the correct primer this system can be suitable for many common substrates, including metal, correctly prepared plastics and timber. The aim is a smooth, reliable finish with good adhesion and stable colour under normal service conditions.

British Standard 4800 - 20 C 37 Aerosol Spray Paint is a custom-mixed aerosol spray paint colour from our British Standard 4800 Paint chart. It’s supplied in 400 ml 1K or 2K aerosols (2K has a built-in hardener), litre tins, plus touch-up pots/pens. Choose finishes from Matt 0% to Full Gloss 90%.
Yes—prepare properly and use the right primer for each substrate:
2K aerosols include a hardener for superior chemical and abrasion resistance—ideal for high-traffic or demanding environments. 1K is convenient and great for lighter-duty tasks or quick repairs.
Note: 2K aerosols are supplied as Acrylic Enamel only.
As a guide, a 400 ml aerosol covers up to ~2 m² per coat on a smooth, primed surface. Most projects look best with 2–4 coats, depending on colour, surface profile and what you’re covering.
Temperature/humidity affect results—always test first.
Yes—prep correctly and consider add-ons for longevity:
Spray in a mild, dry environment—ideally 10–25 °C with low humidity and steady airflow. Avoid very cold, hot or damp conditions which can slow drying or cause defects.
For safety and handling, see our data sheets: 1K · 2K/2K Air-Dry.
Please note: our paint is custom mixed and should be test-sprayed on a small, inconspicuous area before full application. We cannot accept responsibility for any colour difference once paint has been applied to your surfaces. If the colour is not accurate, please contact us to arrange a return.
