About this Paint Colour

Meet British Standard 5252 16 D 44 from the British Standard BS 5252 Paint colour chart, mixed fresh to order for reliable colour match across every format.

What you can choose:

  • Formats and sizes: 400ml 1K or 2K aerosols (2K includes a built in hardener), litre tins, and repair pots or pens.
  • Finish control: Matt 0%, Satin 30%, Semi 60%, Full Gloss 90%.
  • Performance options: UV protection for sun exposed areas and high resistance for busier, outdoor or coastal sites.
  • Spray quality: Vari nozzle for wide or narrow patterns, HVLP style atomisation and low overspray for a tidy finish.

Using Lechler binders and colourants helps achieve consistent flow, film build and colour stability on properly prepared surfaces (pair with the right primer).

Quick guidance: A single 400ml aerosol typically covers up to about 2 m² per coat. Most colours look best with 2 to 4 light coats, depending on the surface and the shade you are covering.

Still deciding? See the info icons next to the selectors, or get in touch or message us on WhatsApp.

Please note: 2K aerosols are supplied in acrylic enamel only.

Frequently Asked Questions

1K aerosol: typically touch-dry within 15–30 minutes and handle-dry within about 30–60 minutes, depending on film build and conditions.

2K aerosol: often touch-dry in around 40 minutes. Full cure is usually achieved within 24–48 hours, influenced by temperature, humidity and ventilation. Cooler or damp conditions will extend curing time.

As a guide, a 400 ml aerosol will cover up to approximately 2 m² per coat. Actual coverage varies with colour, substrate profile, preparation and application technique.

For best results apply 2 to 4 light coats. The exact number depends on the colour selected, the colour being covered and the substrate. Allow the recommended flash-off between coats.

We strongly recommend using the correct primer for most applications. Choose a primer that suits the substrate, for example glass primers, fibreglass primers and plastic primers. The right primer improves adhesion, coverage and durability.

Please note: our British Standard 5252 16 D 44 aerosols, tin & pots are custom mixed and should be test-sprayed on a small, inconspicuous area before full application. We cannot accept responsibility for any colour difference once paint has been applied to your surfaces. If the colour is not accurate, please contact us to arrange a return.
